Alex - Autumn in Paris 1.2010 (16 x 24 oil on canvas) This piece was commissioned by Alex's partner Shaun. The two of them shared a week in Paris during the Fall of 2009. I love the movement of the fallen leaves on the street as she playfully turns for the camera. The tree line in the distance was hidden in a light fog; it seems so far away. The rolling hills continue off out of sight, and the fields lie ready for next year. This was a fun piece for me, I took great care to try and bring a little bit of Alex to this painting: her feminine stature, that big caring smile, and the way she pulls her hair back.
